Eggar's School, A Specialist Science College in Hampshire, was one of the many Schools who joined the Microsoft IT Academy Programme last year. Availing of reduced costs through the launch of a nationwide Microsoft & SSAT Initiative the Programme is now in full swing at Eggar's.

Charles Davis, who manages the Microsoft IT Academy at the School, explained how joining the Programme has been a positive experience for the School, it's Students and Staff:

“Personally, I was very impressed with the Microsoft Certifications. I recently sat the certification exams in Office 2007 and compared to other courses they really stack up.

We just started a 13 week course for our administration staff as part of their CPD. After migrating to Microsoft Office 2007 we wanted to make the most from the new Software. Office 2007 is pretty different so the Microsoft courses are useful for increasing each staff member’s confidence when using the software. Therefore, increasing staff productivity levels across the School.

Students are offered the Microsoft Certifications after their GCSE’s as extension and enrichment. The self-paced or home learning route is proving popular.

Over the coming months we will be investigating where else we can offer the Microsoft Certifications and how we can continue to benefit thorough our Microsoft IT Academy status.”
